Discover the stunning Brecon Beacons on this spectacular charity challenge trek!

Join us for TrekFest – The Beacons on Saturday 6 July 2019! The Brecon Beacons National Park is full of stunning scenery, rolling countryside and impressive mountains. This incredible mountain range runs through the centre of South Wales and is a training ground of the SAS – it will test you to your limits with challenging climbs and steep descents. Both the 25km and 50km routes venture to the summit of Pen Y Fan – the highest peak in southern Britain. From here you’ll witness just how beautiful and diverse this National Park really is!

25km & 50km Routes

You’ll discover breathtaking landscapes, stunning hills and tranquil reservoirs along the way. You’ll also reach the summit of the Brecon Beacons’ highest peak, Pen Y Fan (886m) on both the 25km and 50km routes, where you’ll witness beautiful views as far as the eye can see.

Sign up as a team

Teams of any size are welcome on TrekFest and members can register on either route, and  fundraise for the team’s chosen charity or their own individual choice. Round up your friends, family or colleagues, and make a weekend of it! We’ll be supporting you every step of the way.

The TrekFest Village

Both routes start and finish at The TrekFest Village where you can find toilets, showers, food and drink, even camping plots and car parking! Join us for a BBQ on the Friday evening before the event or enjoy a celebratory drink once you have crossed the finish line.

Make a Difference

Since TrekFest launched in 2013, thousands of individuals have taken on the challenge – helping to raise almost £2 million for charities nationwide. We encourage you to help make 2019 our best fundraising year yet and make the steps count for a cause you’re passionate about!

I’ve just completed TrekFest in the Brecon Beacons with Global Adventure Challenges and had a fantastic time. Really impressed with the organisation, plenty of pre-event information and a great friendly team to keep you motivated on the day. I would thoroughly recommend TrekFest and look forward to doing more GAC events in the future. Thanks to all involved for a really fab weekend!

TrekFest Beacons 2017 Conqueror

This was my first ever charity event with my husband, we did TrekFest The Beacons and it did not disappoint. Great camping area, amazing food, friendly and helpful staff and most of all a pop-up pub – what more could you want? It was very well organised and I couldn’t fault it at all, thank you all and well done everyone who took part!

50km Route

We leave the TrekFest Village in the opposite direction to the 25km route and enjoy the Taff Trail along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. We walk along the canal until we reach the Talybont Forest followed by the Taf Fechan Forest. Our route then exits the forests and we begin our ascent to Fan y Big, one of the four highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons. We continue our ascent up to the summit of Pen y Fan – with stunning views across the Brecon Beacons. From here we descend, and then re-join the Taff Trail. We then enter Brecon and continue back along the canal to the TrekFest Village.

25km Route

We leave the TrekFest Village and enjoy walking on some country roads as we follow sections of the Three Rivers Ride path. After approximately 9km we start our ascent up to Pen y Fan – from the checkpoint we head up onto the ridge of Cefn Cwm Llwch, climbing up towards the summit of Pen y Fan. At the summit we can enjoy the amazing views before beginning our descent under the Corn Du Ridge. As we descend into the valley we experience views of Llyn Cwm Llwch below. Upon reaching the lake, we follow the valley before our final stretch along country roads back to the TrekFest Village.
